The HS2 report is due to be published this week, and will recommend a link to Crossrail and Heathrow.
HS2 was set up to identify a route for a high speed rail link from London to the Midlands and North, and will produce its report this week. It was also asked to look at how the new line could link to the channel tunnel line, and to Heathrow, and is expected to recommend the building of a new interchange between HS2 and Crossrail.
There has been speculation that a sensible location for such a link would be in West London, with Hammersmith & Fulham Council advancing Old Oak Common as a good location that could provide the necessary links and drive some local regeneration. However, reports suggest that HS2 will in fact recommend a central London location for the new station.
