Hounslow wins £1m on lottery

The Big Lottery fund has awarded Hounslow £1m to improve estates in the Borough.

The money will be given to a local partnership organisation and will be aimed at securing improvements in the Brabazon Estate, Harlech Gardens, Norman Crescent and Redwood Estates areas. The money will be spread over the next 10 years, and will help kick start community development projects, led by local people, social enterprises and charities.

The programme will be managed nationally by the Big Local Trust, with Hounslow Council providing direction and expertise to the local partnership.

Cllr Rajinder Bath, Hounslow Council’s lead member for communities said: “We will be working with schools in the area, Hounslow Council for Voluntary Services and Residents’ Associations, Hounslow Homes, the police, and other key organisations through a local partnership to make sure the cash is spent directly in response to local needs.”
