Hounslow want Heathrow

Hounslow Council’s submission to the Davies Commission says that they would like Heathrow to be in their borough, rather than in Hillingdon.

Head of Regeneration Brendon Walsh confirmed at MIPIM that the council would like to become the local authority for the airport. Although when questioned by London Chamber CEO Colin Stanbridge, Council Leader Steve Curran stopped short of an endorsement of expansion. Hounslow’s policy is for a “better not bigger” Heathrow.

Still, this is a friendlier attitude that Hillingdon Council, the airports current planning authority, who have said they would prefer to see the airport close.
