The renewal of schools in Hounslow is to be accelerated after a Building Schools for the Future (BSF) review.
The Government has brought forward by six months the spending of around £625m nationally, which will be spread across eight local authorities. Hounslow is one of only two London Boroughs to be included, the other being Enfield.
Partnerships for Schools, the delivery body for the £45bn BSF programme, said that five secondary schools in the Borough would be fast-tracked.
Plans for the schemes, which would originally have come on stream from early next year onwards, will now start being worked up by the Council.
