Hounslow looks for housing developer

LB Hounslow has gone to tender for a development partner for Cross Lances.

The Authority has issued an OJEU Notice for a developer to undertake a housing development on the site. They want to demolish an existing terrace of up to ten houses and provide new build affordable homes on a 2168 sqm site with extensive back gardens and a small piece of vacant land at the rear.

The majority of the houses to be demolished are void. One property is owned by a housing co-operative and the developer will be expected to liaise directly with the housing co-operative on the sale of the property. The co-operative have expressed an interest in selling but the re-development is not dependent on the demolition of this end of terrace property.

The Council is open to proposals for a greater level of rented affordable housing on this site. They want to maximise the numbers of 4 bedroom homes for rent.
