Hounslow Council are set to approve plans to look at building a new Civic Centre, and redeveloping the Lampton Road site as homes.
The Council would move to the Batth Road car park site in the town centre, while around 750 homes would be built on the present Civic Centre site if the proposals become reality. A council report, due to be discussed in October, says a new seven-storey office block for a new town hall in 2018 and a library and community resource centre would cost around £60m and would be funded by the sale of the current Lapton Road site.
The report recommends starting a bidding process to find developer partners for the two sites.
The move would follow Brent Council’s successful example, moving around 850 jobs right in to the town centre.
