Hounslow Inquiry starts

A Public Inquiry into the compulsory purchase orders required to allow Barratt and Wilson Bowden’s 500 home development in Hounslow town centre is about to start.

The High Street Quarter plans for 527 homes, a multiplex cinema, retail units and restaurants on the surface carpark between the High Street and the Blenheim Centre include a 27 storey tower and require the compulsory purchase of land in Holloway Street, where a row of houses would be demolished, and Alexandra Road.

Hounslow Council granted consent in 2015, which was later confirmed by the Secretary of State after a call-in.

The Inquiry will begin on March 8 2016, and focusses on the council’s use of CPOs.
