Hounslow could buy homes

Hounslow Council is set to decide on a report proposing plans to spend £53.5m on buying homes to help reduce the councils spend on temporary accommodation for homeless families. The plan suggests that up to 175 homes would be purchased through the council’s new housing company Lampton 360. This would allow it to house those in housing need more cost-effectively, the report says.  Getwestlondon reports that the council says it is spending £47,000 a week placing people in temporary accommodation.
