Hounslow Business Awards presented

The Hounslow Business Awards have been presented, with the Clayton Hotel winning the big award of the night.

Hosted by Hounslow Chamber of Commerce, the Hounslow Business Awards recognise and reward the achievements of the local business community across the London Borough of Hounslow.

The awards were the culmination of a day of business activities, with the third Hounslow Festival of Business Expo taking place earlier in the day. The Expo gave businesses the opportunity to meet exhibitors, network with each other and attend workshops, all aimed at helping them develop and grow their companies.

Awards were presented in ten categories, including best SME, entrepreneur of the year, innovator of the year and independent business of the year. All category winners were put forward for the coveted title of overall ‘Business of the Year’.

The Business of the Year award was presented to the Clayton Hotel Chiswick, who were also Best Business for Customer Service category winner.

Speaking at the ceremony Sally Smith, chief operating officer of Hounslow Chamber of Commerce, said: “I am highly impressed by the quality, enthusiasm and passion of the businesses that enter these awards. Your award-winning Chamber of Commerce, in business itself for 110 years, celebrates daily the incredible innovation, success, investment and growth of our business community. Congratulations to all of tonight’s finalists and winners.”

Gerard Smith, of headline sponsor Heathrow Airport, said: “Heathrow is extremely proud to be headline sponsor and we are delighted to be part of these awards tonight. We’re very supportive of local businesses. We work with thousands of businesses in the west London area and this event is an opportunity for us to recognise some of them.”

Cllr Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, said: “Hounslow Council is once again delighted to be supporting the Hounslow Business Awards and championing the excellence of our local businesses and entrepreneurs. Small businesses are the life-blood of Hounslow. I’d like to thank everyone who took part and congratulate the winners for their well-deserved awards.”
