Canon UK and Ireland is to relocate to Stockley Park, to join up with Canon Europe, who are already based there. The move cements Canon’s commitment to West London.
The UK business has been headquartered in Reigate for some time, with 450 people based in the building it owns there.
Yusuke Mizoguchi, managing director of Canon UK&I, said: “Given that the EMEA HQ has been based in the UK for many years, it makes strategic sense to seek out opportunities to create a more streamlined operation whilst increasing our overall competitiveness.
“Having a joint location will enable us to look for opportunities to share resources and run a more efficient organisation which will also create some broader group opportunities for some of our UK employees.”
There are currently around 750 staff in Uxbridge.
Meanwhile, Hitachi is reported to be in talks to move its European headquarters from Maidenhead to The Bower at Stockley Park, where it is understood to be talking about taking 25,000 sq ft. 250 jobs are based at its Maidenhead location, a building which it owns.
The Bower is being developed by a joint venture between funds managed by Clearbell Capital and Patrizia and development manager Exton Estates. The ground floor is already confirmed as let to Spaces, a co-working and serviced office provider.
