Hillingdon to refuse Cranford take offs

LB Hillingdon is set to refuse an application from Heathrow Airport which would allow take off over Cranford.

The Uxbridge Gazette reports that council officers are recommending refusal of a plan to alter taxi-ways to enable scheduled departures to the east from the northern runway.

The suggested grounds are that noise impacts have not been assessed properly, with insufficient mitigation measures proposed.

The work would allow runway alternation to be consistently applied, allowing a more even distribution of noise-free periods for near-airport areas.
