Hillingdon refuse Tesco and Morrisons

Plans for new supermarkets from Tesco and Morrisons in Hillingdon Circus have both been refused.

LB Hillingdon dealt with both applications, for sites either side of Long Lane, at the same planning meeting. The Tesco plan, which included a 3,543sq m Tesco, an 84 bedroom hotel and five blocks of flats on the former Master Brewer site in Freezeland Way, had an officer’s recommendation for approval.

Bride Hall’s plans proposed a 7,829sq metre Morrisons, along with an 82 bed Premier Inn and 107 flats.

Both were refused on a variety of grounds centred around traffic impact. See more from the Uxbridge Gazette.
