Hillingdon plans ruled sound

Part one of the Hillingdon Local Plan has been ruled sound by the Planning Inspectorate.

The plan, which outlines development up to 2026, contains a commitment to continue the current trend of high density residential and employment development concentrated in the south of the borough, with 75% of the borough’s total output in Uxbridge, and the Hayes-West Drayton corridor.

The plan sets a target of 9,000 new jobs in the period, concentrated in Uxbridge and the Heathrow Opportunity Area, while conserving the bulk of designated employment land and managing the release of less-suitable sites. The plan also seeks to improve north-south links, and promote retail growth in district centres.
