Hillingdon is preparing a Core Strategy – a new spatial planning strategy for the Borough as part of work towards preparing a new Local Development Framework (LDF). Once adopted, the LDF will replace the current Unitary Development Plan (UDP) as the statutory development plan for the borough.
The Core Strategy will form the overarching development strategy in the Local Development Framework and will set out the long-term spatial vision and spatial policies for the Borough. The Core Strategy will be key to delivering the Council’s Sustainable Community Strategy and implement parts of the London Plan, such as housing and employment targets.
The consultation on the Core Strategy Pre-Submission document – which takes forward the Core Strategy Consultation Document which was published for consultation in June 2010 and contains the broad spatial vision, strategic objectives and core policies of the Local Development Framework up to 2026 – is taking place from 9 February 2011 until 25 March 2011.
This formal consultation stage is part of the preparation for it to be submitted for independent examination on the basis of soundness and legal compliance.
