Hillingdon Chamber have released results of a survey where three quarters of members backed expansion at Heathrow.
76% of those surveyed said they felt Heathrow should be allowed to expand.
When asked what impact the closure of the airport would have on their business, they produced a variety of answers. While some felt it would have no effect, many others thought it would have a very detrimental effect on business either directly or indirectly – for example through reduced demand for property or mortgages.
Descriptions ranged from “horrified – dead” through “devastating” to “bad news”.
The survey was undertaken in January this year.
