Barratt’s plans for the High Street Quarter in Hounslow have gone on display.
The plans for the surface car park site between the Blenheim Centre and the High Street include a 27 storey tower – which has acquired the nickname”the spinal cord” (see picture right) – containing 500 homes and a cinema, as well as shops, restaurants and a new play and performance space.
They are being shown at a public exhibition in the Treaty Centre. Following the consultation, a planning application is expected next spring. Work could be completed by 2018.
Barratt say the scheme would create 1,000 jobs.
