As part of its work to support North End Road Market, Hammersmith & Fulham Council has signed up to the Real Deal Charter to protect shoppers and local traders and businesses against counterfeit or unsafe goods.
“Our street traders are the life blood of North End Road and we are determined to stop anyone undermining them by trying to sell dodgy goods,” says Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport and Residents’ Services.
“The Real Deal Charter means shoppers in North End Road Market can stay confident that they are buying the genuine article. My thanks to our trading standards and street trading teams for their work in signing the council up to the charter.”
There are currently 86 councils signed up to the Real Deal Charter, covering 379 different local markets.
The Real Deal campaign brings together local authority trading standards services, market operators and traders, industry groups and copyright and trademark owners to fight the trade in counterfeit goods.
