Hammersmith & Fulham Council has announced its intention to cut council taxes by 1%, while freezing our cutting a range of other charges.
H&F’s new administration is proposing the cut alongside a freeze in parking charges. They say the cut is to be funded by making a range of savings including cutting the number of senior managers; cutting the costs of the office space; scrapping council magazines and reducing its PR budget.
A final decision on the council’s budget for 2015/16, including council tax rates, will be made at the annual budget meeting on 25 February.
The previous Conservative administration had also made a number of cuts to Council Tax levels.
