Hammersmith & Fulham Council have announced their intention to award three contracts worth more than £200m.
Hammersmith & Fulham (H&F) Council is set to outsource housing management in the south of the borough for the first time and estate services, comprising caretaking and cleaning, across the entire borough to Pinnacle Housing. The council also intends to award a new repairs and maintenance contract to MITIE Property Services.
The housing repairs and maintenance contract with MITIE is worth approximately £177m over ten years and will cover reactive repairs and some planned preventative maintenance. The council say they will save £20m.
Cllr Andrew Johnson, H&F Council cabinet member for housing, said: “The savings that we will make, if these contracts are awarded, will help pay off our £217million of housing debt, improve our existing stock and ensure that our rents remain competitive.”
From July this year, housing management in the south of the borough and estate services across the entire borough will be provided by Pinnacle Housing. These two contracts are worth a total of £41m over ten years and will provide the council with a saving of more than £10m.
This contract covers the south of the borough only, with the north remaining in-house. The estate services contract will see Pinnacle provide caretaking and cleaning services across the entire borough.
The three contracts have been drawn up for an initial ten year period, with an option to extend them all for an additional five years. The decision to award the contracts to Pinnacle and MITIE is subject to approval at an H&F Council Cabinet meeting on April 8.
