LB Hammersmith & Fulham will now host two sports for the London Olympics, with the cycling road race set to pass through.
The route, just announced, passes across Fulham from Westminster to Putney Bridge, where the riders will cross the Thames and head out to Surrey. They will pass through Fulham again on their way back to the finish on the Mall.
With Earls Court hosting volleyball, Hammersmith now has two olympic events, which is two more than Tower Hamlets, one of the five east London “Olympic Boroughs”, which lost the Marathon route when it was decided that should finish on the Mall rather than at the Olympic Stadium.
The the full route on the BBC.
