Hendon FC JR defended

Barnet Council has successfully defended a Judicial Review over the sale of the freehold of the former Hendon Football Club site.

The Council’s Cabinet Resources Committee agreed to sell the site to the current leaseholder, Montclare, in July 2012. That decision was challenged by The London Jewish Girls School who had submitted a bid for the Council’s Freehold interest in the site.

Councillor Daniel Thomas, Barnet Council Cabinet Member for Resources said: “The increasing number of Judicial Reviews facing councils across the UK demonstrates the sheer scale of change going on in local government as the status quo becomes unaffordable. “
