The shortlist of architects for the RAF Museam’s “Beacon” has been announced.
The museum site, just out of Brent and into Barnet on Grahame Park Way, is intended to be home to the Battle of Britain Beacon, a monument commemorating one of the pivotal conflicts of WWII. Initial designs for the monument by one of the shortlisted practices, Feilden Clegg Bradley, were published in May last year (pictured). These involved a building taller than the Houses of Parliament.
An OJEU tender for the design contract was launched in January and that process is now in its final stages. A winner is expected to be announced in March.
