Heathrow Neighbourhood Forum discussions start

A small group of residents from Harmondsworth, Sipson and Harlington are looking to develop a neighbourhood plan for their area.

They are seeking not only to give themselves protection against Heathrow expansion, but also to prevent other developments in the area, reports the Uxbridge Gazette.

Since any neighbourhood plan would take around two years to come in to force, and would have to be in accord with national planning policy, it is unlikely to prevent expansion at Heathrow if the Davies Commission recommends that option, and the Government accepts and backs that recommendation.
