Heathrow falls in connections league

Heathrow Airport has fallen from fourth to seventh in the league of international airports ranked by their direct connections.

The UK’s key airport has direct links to 165 cities (down from 180), which sees it slip behind Munich (213), Rome (203) and Madrid (202). It was already behind Frankfurt (289), Amsterdam and Paris.

Baroness Jo Valentine, CEO of London First, told the Evening Standard: “The UK is losing ground to other European countries, and is in danger of being cut off from new and growing markets.”
