Heathrow asks for inclusion of four-runway plan

Heathrow Airport says the plan to expand Heathrow in one go into a four runway airport should be reviewed by the Davies Commission.

The airport told the Evening Standard that they felt the commission led by Sir Howard Davies looking at aviation capaity expansion in the south east should “consider any option”, including that of adding two runways to the exiting hub.

The proposal to allow Heathrow to expand immediately to four runways was first raised by The Free Enterprise Group supported by around 40 MPs including Kwasi Kwarteng, MP for Splthorne, where much of the construction would take place, and whose electorate could be expected to benefit from some of the new jobs created.
