Harrow Council are consulting on plans to revive Headstone Manor Recreation Ground, following success in the first round of the Heritage Lottery Fund’s ‘A Park for All Communities’ fund.
The council is now looking to secure funding to make further improvements to the park to restore its quality, vitality and attractiveness.
The current consultation will be followed by work to put together detailed plans to complete the Round 2 application for £1.38 million of funding.
The restoration project includes plans to improve the park’s landscape, including: clearance of the medieval moat; recreation of historic ponds; improved access to the water for activities such as pond dipping; improved park entrances; an improved play area, and a nature trail.
The project will also include funding for a range of events and activities over a five year period.
