HBG Construction has won the £80 million contract to build the new Harrow College. The contractor will carry out phase one of the "One Harrow" project. As part of the deal HBG will contribute towards the training and development of the students from the Harrow Skills Centre and the college.
It has already assisted the students with work-based training and experiences including plastering and partitioning.
HBG construction director Neil Franklin said: "The project provides an increased opportunity to involve students from both the skills centre and college.
"The college is central to the regeneration of Central Harrow with sustainability being integral. The design aims to create an energy efficient building that exceeds Building Regulations targets and reductions in carbon outputs."
The building, designed by MaCormac Jamieson Prichard, will be nine-storeys above ground by the railway, stepping down to the south with a series of planted roof terraces.
