Hayes & Harlington Station is to receive a major upgrade.
The £800,000 refurbishment will include a new ticket office, lighting and flooring, a new waiting room and toilets, and a canopy cover at the front of the historic brick-built Victorian station building. This will provide a newentrance to the station, with the existing entrance on Station Road remaining open as well. The four-month programme of building work will start towards the end of May.
David Brough, Chairman of Hayes Town Partnership, told the Uxbridge Gazette: “These plans are a fantastic boost for Hayes and for rail passengers.”
Opening the former Victorian entrance will provide a much better pedestrian link to Hayes Town Centre, and to the Ballymore development, High Point Hayes, which sits between the station and the canal.
