Harrow looks for framework

Harrow Civic and car park small LB Harrow has advertised what could be a £150m framework contract.

In an advert in OJEU, the Council is asking for expressions of interest in "all aspects of construction works, with the intention to incorporate design, contract management and related areas of property based works, to its asset management and investment portfolio".

The Council says that the work will include refurbishments, modernisation works, new building works, and repair works to its education, corporate and other buildings (including but not limited to social services buildings, leisure centres and facilities but excluding housing stock). The framework agreement may include the building of new schools and works to education facilities which fall outside the scope of its current works programme but only if the Council gets funding.

There is also the possibility that the framework ight cover the building of new major corporate buildings - there is a current strategic review that could see LB Harrow move from their present Civic Centre in Wealdstone to a Harrow town centre site. They have agreed to purchase the part-listed Harrow College site in the event that the College is able to build and move to its proposed new campus, a move which is part dependent on LSC funding.

The Council intends to award a four-year framework agreement to a single contractor. Estimates for the value of the contract stretch from £50m to £150m.
