Harrow confirms CEO axe

Harrow Council has confirmed it is to scrap the role of chief executive as a cash saving ploy.

There had been a consultation on the idea, following the change of control of the council earlier in the year. The position has been occupied by Michael Lockwood, whose responsibilities will pass to Paul Najsarek, corporate director for community health and wellbeing.

The Conservative group on the council feel the move could save £1m over four years.
