Harrow chooses LED

Harrow Council is to replace all its streetlights with LEDs, a cost saving move which should also improve the quality of light.

The Council will replace the borough’s 15,500 street lights with the new LED lighting over the next seven years, which should deliver savings of more than ¬£200,000 each year through long life span and low energy use.¬†Street lighting currently accounts for 25 per cent of the Council’s electricity consumption.
