Hammersmith to get three polyclinics

The controversial concept will be installed three times over in LB Hammersmith &Fulham.

The new GP-led centres will offer a wide range of services. They will open seven days a week with early morning and evening clinics – which on the face of it seems likely to improve at least access to services. Some critics  fee though that the inevitable consequence will be the closure or restriction of established GP surgeries, and a deterioration in the ‘patient/doctor relationship’.

The clinics will be next to the existing emergency departments at Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital. A third centre is being developed on Bloemfontein Road in White City.
