Hammersmith plan a fourth year of Council Tax cuts

LB Hammersmith & Fulham has said it will cut Council Tax by 3% for the fourth year running.

Council leader Stephen Greenhalgh told the Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle: “All councils have a duty to respond to the perfect storm of social and economic challenges”.

The authority says it is able to make the savings having cut more than £42 million worth of “waste and bureaucracy” over the past three years. If approved in the council’s next budget, the cuts will mean the average home in Hammersmith and Fulham pays £122 less in council tax than it did in 2007.
