The shortlist for the Awards is decided by public nomination – Hammersmith & Fulham residents and workers are asked to suggest who they think should be considered in a range of categories including Best customer service, Best Food business, and an awards for each of the main town centres.
The awards, in their third year, seek to identify and celebrate local business heroes, and those that makes a difference to the quality of life in the borough. They put the borough’s finest and most outstanding businesses, entrepreneurs and community-minded enterprises into the spotlight, and recognise their achievements.
H&F’s and chair of the economy, regeneration, housing and the arts policy and accountability committee, Cllr Ben Coleman.
Cabinet member for economic development and regeneration, Cllr Andrew Jones, said: “These awards highlight the fantastic quality and variety of the 17,000 businesses we have in H&F – cafes, restaurants, hairdressers, beauticians, market stalls, architects and even financial advisors! The council’s new administration wants to make sure people who live and work in the borough support their local enterprises, keep shopping in their areas and vote for the businesses they love.”
One of last year’s winners, Simon Slee of Fast Signs, said The H&F Brilliant Business Awards lifted the profile of FASTSIGNS Hammersmith to another level. “The highly respected awards not only gave my business kudos but importantly gave our prospective clients a huge level of comfort. I can only encourage local businesses to be involved with the awards,” he said.
Elisicia Moore of Petit Miracles, also a 2013 winner, said “Winning the Best Creative Business Award 2013 was a real boost to our business; it helped grow sales and improved team morale. We proudly display the award in our shop and it tells our customers we are the best at what we do.”
The closing date for nominations is Sunday October 19. The H&F Brilliant Business Awards celebration evening will take place on November 26 at St Paul’s Church, in Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith.
