Hammersmith joins “Total Place” pilot

LB Hammersmith & Fulham has joined RB Kensington & Chelsea, Wandsworth and Westminster in a pilot announced in the Chancellor’s CSR speech.

The scheme, usually referred to as Total Place, is one where community budgets are pooled. The new “prototype” will begin in April 2011, as announced in the Chancellor’s Comprehensive Spending Review speech.

The “prototypes”, as they are described by the Communities and Local Government department– will look at ways local authorities and partners can pool budgets and develop more joined-up services, primarily in family services. They will build on the work of the 13 Total Place pilots completed earlier this year.
