Hammersmith & Fulham Council are holding an event for entrepreneurs, business start-ups, and those looking to launch their business ideas.
The inaugural Upstream event, on Wednesday 24 May 2017, will be held in the MediaWorks building at White City Place.
Sophie Devonshire, entrepreneur and local resident who will chair the event, said: “I like to think of Hammersmith & Fulham as being the birthplace of innovation and invention, with a long heritage in the arts, too. I’ve lived in the borough for many years and am delighted to help the Upstream initiative build a network of like-minded tech and creative people.”
The ‘Upstream’ initiative was launched by H&F Council in March. Events under its banner will bring together those who work in the technology and creative sectors within the borough, as part of the plan to make Hammersmith & Fulham the best place to business in Europe.
Tobias Alpsten, CEO and founder of health tech scale-up iPLATO; Annie Krukowska, Programme Director of accelerator BBC Worldwide Labs; and Andrew Lynch, COO and co-founder of co-working company Huckletree are all on the bill.
Tobias Alpsten who founded health-tech scale-up iPlato, which is based in Hammersmith added: “This is a great opportunity for anyone who works in technology to connect with others locally”.
Discussion will centre on how founders decide on their values at the outset, how values are maintained as they grow, if and how values evolve, and what employees can do to influence their company’s values.
