Development Securities £250m scheme is under threat from a High Court claim over right-to-light…
The building, known variously as ‘The Strawberry’ and ‘The Armadillo’ allegedly infringes on a number of properties around the site owned by Romulus Properties.
Transport for London sold the 1.5 acre former car park site to DevSec for £19m in September last year, and the 360,000 sq ft development designed by Hamilton Architects was granted planning consent by Hammersmith & Fulham Council in December 2007. It would rise to 10 stories and while office-led, would also contain a 20,000 square feet Everyman multi-screen cinema, 15,000 square feet of restaurants, and a public open space linking to Lyric Square.
DevSecs funding partners are Royal London and National Bank of Dubai.
