HammersmithLondon – the town centre Business Improvement District – has won a national award, BID of the Year.
The Association of Town and City Management Awards showcases the achievements of Town Centre Managers, BID Managers, Town Teams and place-making partnerships of all sizes and shapes across the UK & Ireland, and celebrate valuable programmes and projects being delivered up and down the country to improve high streets, town and city centres.
HammersmithLondon beat off competition from all over the UK to win the BID of the Year category, which, according to organiser the Association of Town Centre Managers, was judged on innovation and the tangible benefits delivered.
The BID had been nominated for its work on the Hammersmith Flyunder project, which it has been lobbying for since 2012 and this year culminated in the publication and submission of the HammersmithLondon economic study to Transport for London as part of a feasibility study, and the subsequent backing of the scheme by Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.
Executive Director Arun Sondhi said “We are absolutely thrilled at being named BID of the year. It was such an honour to be nominated for the award, especially as all the nominees had put a tremendous amount of hard work into their individual projects.
“I would firstly like to thank ATCM but most of all, I am grateful to the HammersmithLondon BID team for their continual hard work and support with the ongoing project.”
