Hammer comes down on Debenhams

The freehold for Harrow Debenhams and another town centre property have sold at auction, with Debenhams raising nearly double the guide price.

Debenhams in Station Road, Harrow was sold at auction by Acuitus for £9.55m to an undisclosed buyer against a guide price of £5.25million.

Acuitis told the Harrow Observer it was the highest price paid at a commercial property auction since 2009.

At the same auction 314 Station Road – home to Burton and Dorothy Perkins with a vacant nightclub above – sold for £1.78m, also to an undisclosed buyer. There is an extant permission for converting the nightclub into eight flats.
