A scheme that the developer, Barratt, claims will become "the Covent Garden of Brentford" opened its first phase this week saying that 75% of apartments had been sold.
Wallis House, the art deco listed former Simmonds Aerocessories building, has been converted to a design by West London housing specialist architect John Assael. Subsequent phases of the Great West Quarter development include "Moderna" (mixed use resi, leisure and commercial) and the 25-storey Skylon building (a hotel with flats and a restaurant).
In all Great West Quarter will provide 800 new homes. The whole development aims to be complete within four years.
