West London figures in national listing

Hammersmith and Hounslow have ranked third and fourth in a national listing of economic performance.

Local Futures – a research and strategy consultancy that provides a geographical perspective on economic, social and environmental change – puts the boroughs in its top five out of 325 local authorities in England in its economic score. Tower Hamlets led that particular ranking.

Cllr Ruth Cadbury, cabinet member for planning and regeneration at Hounlow Council, cited Heathrow as part of the reason for the high position, saying: “We are ideally placed for ambitious businesses with Heathrow on our doorstep.”
