Ghost Bus to be scrapped

West London's 'ghost bus' allegedly maintained by the Government to avoid an iquiry into the loss of a rail service is to be scrapped.

The bus, run by the Department for Transport and costing £500 a day, had replaced replace a scrapped rail service, but ran empty every day, largely because no-one knew when or where it ran, as it wasn't advertised.

The Ealing Gazette has run a campaign aimed at getting the bus off the road and the rail service back, and now the government has announced that it will bring back a train to replace the bus, it can tick off a success.
