Gayton Road ‘on hold’

Fairview and Mount Anvil’s 383 unit development in central Harrow has been placed on hold due to ‘insufficient funds’, reports suggest.

The £18.9m scheme has been dogged by local opposition, particulaly to the scale of the project, and was recently ‘called in’ by Minister Hazel Blears after a sustained campaign by the GLA Member for Harrow and Brent.

It seems that this planning struggle, combined with the present scarcity of funds and market weakness, has produced a desire in the partners to call a halt.
