Gaumont public meeting planned

Gaumont_State_Cinema_Entrance A public meeting is planned for early 09 to discuss the future of the listed Gaumon State Cinema.

The building, which has played host to all sorts of entertainment since ceasing to be a cinema – including the Rolling Stones, and the Jam – was most recently a Mecca of a different kind – a bingo hall.

It's now owned by Ruach Inspiration Ministries, who intend it to be a church. Ruach also own a church on Brixton Hill, in South London, and have begun pre-application meetings with LB Brent.

The meeting about the Grade II listed building is being organised by Cllr Anthony Dunn.
