Gatefold set for approval

Phase one of the redeevelopment of the former EMI factory in Hayes has been recommended for approval.

The plans for the Gatefold Building, which would be a seven storey building at the eastern side of the Blyth Road site, were submitted by Cathedral Group, who are working jointly with Development Securities to turn the largely empty, 18 acre, former factory site into a new employment & residential location, which they have christened “The Old Vinyl Factory”. The scheme would be kicked off with the Gatefold Building, which would contain 132 flats.

The plans for the Gatefold Building are recommended for approval at an upcoming LB Hillingdon planning meeting.

The plans for the whole site are expected to unfold in the coming months. Lookwest readers will be able to get a guided tour of the site and listen to the plans, as well as disuss the wider regeneration scene in Hayes, at an event organised by Place West London in May.
