Freightnet first in X2 upstairs

x2Freightnet, the cargo handling company, is set to occupy a unit on the upper level of X2, SEGRO’s double-decker shed near Heathrow.

Freightnet is to occupy a 36,524 sq ft unit on the upper floor at X2, Heathrow, after signing a 10 year lease.

X2, a landmark two storeywarehouse facility, is configured to provide full lorry access and loading on both levels. X2 is close to the southern runway at London Heathrow, next to Hatton Cross station, and with direct access onto the Perimeter Road.

Last year SEGRO leased the whole of the ground floor at X2 to AirWorld Services Limited. Freightnet will be the first customer to occupy one of four units on the upper deck.

Freightnet has also secured 1,187 sq ft of space within Building 554 on Shoreham Road, which is located within Heathrow Airport’s Cargo Terminal known as ‘The Horseshoe’. Freightnet has signed an initial five year lease on this building with the Airport Property Partnership (APP), which is a joint venture between SEGRO and Aviva Investors.

Freightnet Chairman, Adam Bacon commented: “Having worked with Aspect to conduct a comprehensive search of available airport property, we identified X2 and Shoreham Road, both managed by SEGRO, as the ideal strategic locations from which to drive our business expansion into the Heathrow cargo market.”

Simon Lanyon of SEGRO, added: “Freightnet is a rapidly expanding company and we are pleased they have chosen to locate to such a prominent location at Heathrow. Freightnet will be able to utilise the large warehousing space as well as create spacious offices.

We are delighted with this letting on the upper deck of X2 and it demonstrates the demand around Heathrow for modern and well located space.”

Freightnet was represented by Aspect Property Consultants.
