The West London Free School has shown its plans for a refurbishment of Palingswick House ahead of submitting a planning application.
The plans, designed by TP Bennett (pictured), involve the preservation of Palingswick House in its entirety, including the lodge that sits in front of it. A classroom block and dining hall will be built at the rear of the existing building, preserving the view of Palingswick House from King Street.
Palingswick House has had a number of uses in the course of its life, at one stage being used as a school for diabetic children. More recently, it became a hub for local community groups. In 2011, Hammersmith & Fulham Council announced it intended to sell the building to help pay down historic debt, when it was acquired for the permanent site of the new Free School.
