Brent Council will host a free live screening of the World Cup final this Sunday, despite England’s elimination in the semi-finals.
Gareth Southgate’s men were beaten 2-1 after extra time by Croatia on Wednesday.
However, football fans keen to continue the party can see who comes out on top between England’s victors and France at King Edward VII park in Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
Cllr Muhammed Butt, leader of Brent Council, said: “Obviously we were all hoping for England to finish the job, but it just wasn’t to be. Nevertheless, this is a proudly global borough and we are keen to carry on celebrating this global event.
“We’re putting up a big screen in King Edward VII park and hope that residents can come along and enjoy the final match of what has been an outstanding tournament.”
Tickets are not required. Coverage of the final will start at 3pm.
