Formal to go again with Rectory

Formal Investments are to submit new plans for Rectory Farm in Cranford, to involve extracting three million cubic metres of gravel, and creating a new public park.

Formal, whose team includes Carmody Groarke, Arup, DP9, and VOGT, submitted previopus plans, which were refused in 2015, to extract the gravel from beneath the disused Rectory Farm on The Parkway and create a 110-acre park on the space.

Formal is now understood to be planning to submit a new application which addresses the reasons for refusal, primarily noise and environmental effects, and development of the Green Belt.

The plans would involve extracting the gravel, while the surface above was landscaped for public use. The space occupied by the gravel would then be used for storage.
