Formal look for underground warehouse to enable gravel extraction

Formal Investments have submitted plans for the development of an underground warehouse facility, under a 110-acre park.

The site at Rectory Farm, just to the north east of Heathrow, could accommodate a significant amount of industrial space, once the gravel presently occupying the space has been extracted. The land is green belt. A previous application to extract 3m cubic metres of gravel was refused.

Work could begin in 2018 and complete in seven to 10 years.
